Honington & Sapiston WI meeting on Tuesday 14th August 2024

Sarah Bullen's talk, zero food waste initiative, was interesting and informative with some amazing statistics.
Sarah works for the charity "Still Good Food" which runs two shops, one at the Freedom Café, Mill Road, Great Barton and the second in Elseys Yard, Risbygate Street, BSE and both are open to everyone. They source food, destined to be thrown away, from a variety of places including the major supermarkets and local farmers and sell them for a donation, minimum £3.

The statistics were awful with millions of pieces of fruit and veg, slices of bread and glasses of milk wasted every day. There was a great deal of audience participation and many questions asked. Sarah was a good speaker, passionate about her subject and easy to listen to.
