For April’s meeting we were joined by Trevor White, a local Bee Keeper.
Trevor shared his experience with Bee Keeping, a hobby he had taken up since retirement, along with his extensive knowledge of the lives and habits of Bee’s. We learnt how Bee’s communicate by dancing to tell others where the closest nectar is. There were plenty of questions to keep Trevor on his toes throughout the evening! After the engaging talk, we then had the opportunity to purchase some of his delicious honey – TW Countryside Honey. Our competition this month was a Bee in any medium, we had an array of entries, and we asked Trevor to pick out the winners. Charmaine came in third with an embroidered shirt, Lucy came in second with crocheted headphone covers and Carol won the competition with delicate handmade silver bee earrings! |
